Being at the top of your profession can be lonely. You are expected to be the font of all knowledge, to drive business growth and develop a strong team, but who has got your back? When the pressure builds, you need an experienced and trusted mentor.

What is executive mentoring?

As your executive mentor, I am your confidant; someone to share your aspirations and doubts, achievements and challenges with. Our relationship focuses on supporting you to identify and fulfil your potential.

You lead the mentoring sessions, deciding on the priorities. I operate as a guide, providing an objective perspective on the situations you face. I help you to build greater self-awareness, so you can apply your skills and fill skill gaps with confidence. Where needed, I draw on over 25 years of leadership and business experience to advise.   

I am a great listener and my responses will be honest. Expect me to question and challenge, as this will provide us with clarity of understanding. Know that I will endeavour to build your morale, motivation and self-belief so that you can realise personal development.

Do I need a mentor?

You may be considering mentoring or it may have been recommended by your organisation. Either way, it is a recognition of innate, untapped capabilities. You are a talented individual who will benefit from the support, encouragement and advice of a personal sounding board. 

Let me help you to banish imposter syndrome, address conflict in your team or gain the confidence to go for bigger tenders. Mentoring is about personal development and this can extend outside of the workplace. Which priorities do you want to spend more time on and how can you achieve this?

Building a trusted mentoring relationship

Mentoring is typically long-term and may also include elements of training, as needed. Establishing a trusted working relationship requires mutual respect. As an executive mentor, I commit to:

  • Being on time for all pre-arranged meetings
  • Actively listening 
  • Responding without judgement 
  • Adapting to work towards the achievement of goals that may evolve over time
  • Being open, honest and supportive
  • Keeping the content of our session confidential

As a mentee, I will ask you to also commit to this criterion.
